My activity: A crossword puzzle (beginner level)
I created a crossword puzzle with a free template from the Internet using the target vocabulary. The clues were in Hebrew and the words in the puzzle had to be written in English. I gave them a word bank with more words than were in the puzzle to avoid spelling mistakes.
This was a very successful activity. It reviewed the words, but the students felt they were playing a game and enjoyed themselves. It is a flexible activity that can be used on any level with a variety of target items ( irregular verbs; no word bank, etc.)
